This CD is a recording of the hymns from Vespers in the Paschal period immediately following Pascha itself. It includes all the major hymns of the Vespers service, including those specific to the season. Includes liner notes on the recording in English, but no hymn text.
ReviewBy: Benjamin Williams
This is the second CD of Russian liturgical music by the Novopassky Monastery Choir on the Naxos label, and like its predecessor is characterized by both value and quality. The recording and the singing are both very good. The missing element in this one is the hymn text in the liner notes. Otherwise both comprise a set that fans of Russian liturgical music will want to have.
