Romeiko Ensemble Promo Package

Romeiko Ensemble was formed in 1992 by Dr. Yorgos Bilalis with the specific purpose of performing authentic interpretations of Byzantine Chant from the Medieval and Ottoman eras. The ensemble is comprised of selected musicians skilled in historical and improvisational performance practice and trained to read the parasemantiki (Byzantine musical notation.)

This promo package includes The Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom (Mode 1) and He Cometh at Midnight plus a FREE CD: Akathis/Nymphios/Lamentations.

He Cometh At Midnight – The Bridegroom Service of Great & Holy Monday. This recording of the Bridegroom Service (Vespers and Matins) of Holy Monday includes all the hymns and is based on previously unpublished medieval compositions, and chanted antiphonally in Greek and English by two choirs.

The Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom – Mode I. A complete recording of the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom with Priest, Deacon and Cantors performed on a Sunday of First Mode. Recorded live at St. Anargyroi Church in Athens, Greece. It includes all hymns and litanies as well as the "silent" celebrant's prayers joyously intoned on 2 CDs.

Akathist-Nymphios-Lamentations was commissioned in 2007 by a newspaper in Athens as a promotional CD including hymns from The Akathist to the Virgin, the Nymphios Service and the Lamentations Service of Holy Week. This full length CD of glorious and edifying Lenten & Holy Week music is free as part of the promotional package.
